Maria Montessori wanted education to be accessible to all children. Therefore, the Casa dei Bambini she created also accommodated children requiring special support. Experience has shown that avoiding comparison and competition, and starting with a child's positive experiences, builds a child's self-esteem and promotes educational success.

It was Maria Montessori who pioneered the idea of inclusive integration – a concept in which neurotypical children and children with specific developmental difficulties function together in one group.

The ideas we implement in our facility:

  • all our efforts are aimed at building relationships between children, which is why we do everything to ensure that integrated children learn to cooperate with their peer group, which is why we do not accept a "shadow" teacher next to a child, because a child with an adult by their side will never be attractive to their peers;

  • we develop and implement an individual IPET therapeutic program and modify it as needed;

  • we provide care from specialists, including a speech therapist, special education teacher and psychologist;

  • we prepare meals taking into account diets and dietary recommendations;

  • We expect the presence of up to 30% of integrated children in the group (three for every ten children);

  • we work closely together between home and kindergarten;

  • we support the entire group of children through TUS (social skills training) so that they can get tools to cope with difficult social situations;

  • all children in the facility (healthy, integrated) must have the opportunity to work independently;

  • We do not accept aggressive behavior in our facility;

  • integrated children are admitted with opinions or rulings from public psychological and pedagogical counselling centres or with opinions/rulings in the process of their execution in public psychological and pedagogical counselling centres;

6 GETIF Values

Education is a relationship

We create education that allows young people to develop, using their natural curiosity about the world and their talents.

and predispositions. We support in building self-esteem and shaping self-awareness.

Students learn,

and they are not taught

Everyone should work at their own pace – as long as it's effective. We teach

at school, not at home –

Hence, there is no homework or tutoring. We don't give tests, but we teach students to assess their knowledge and needs.

We cooperate

instead of competing

School is a brief phase of life, a time of development, a place of experience, the creation of diverse relationships, and first loves. Our school is a space of technical skills and inspiration from dedicated teachers.

We implement sensitivity

to yourself and to your surroundings

Social responsibility is important to us. We care about ourselves and others, and we say NO to consumerism.

- we develop skills that allow us to take care of things (small sewing, DIY, cooking).

We conclude

and we doubt

Education is the ability to connect the dots. We focus on the process of learning about the world from different perspectives, through various means – through experience, active participation, trial and error.

Textbooks are just a supplement.

We are just a stage

School is a brief phase of life, a time of development, a place of experience, the creation of diverse relationships, and first loves. Our school is a space of technical skills and the inspiration of dedicated teachers.

We believe in good communication
